Adding a creative twist
At the moment I’m currently experimenting with adding a creative twist to my portraiture. I had the pleasure of working with a friend of mine last week who posed for me whilst I spent a couple of hours playing around working with lights and using natural light.
My first set of shots were done using just natural light and a reflector, however, I’m doing to do things back to front and show you an image shot using a couple of flashs.

Portrait using studio flash
It was lit with a flash from behind the camera left position, plus a further light behind the glass wall with a blue gel to give the blue glow behind the model. The good thing about this was seeing all the pitfalls of this lighting arrangement so the next time I do something similar it will be quicker!
As soon as I’ve processed the naturally lit photographs, I’ll post an example here.
Share and enjoy with your friends
