Race for Life – Sandwell Valley Park
It’s been a great weekend… although a little bit hectic! I spent this afternoon at Sandwell Valley Park watching some friends that I’ve worked with running the Cancer Research UK Race for Life.
Nicola, Sarah, Amanda and Marie have been training for the event for the last 6 weeks and it was good to see that the all their hard work paid off! As you can see from the photograph below, they all completed the race and all of them crossed the finishing line running!

Last year I went to the event in Canon Hill Park in Birmingham, but the weather was so bad that I didn’t manage to get a single picture – so it was great to have good weather and get some great pictures of the girls.
Cancer affects everyone in some way shape and form – whether directly or indirectly and the chances are that 1 in 3 of us will be affected by it. This is why the work that
Cancer Research UK does is so important. Events such as Race for Life raise awareness and are a great way to raise money for research to find cures for different cancers. So if you know someone that has done a Race for Life this year, why not sponsor them – even if it’s after the event!
Share and enjoy with your friends
