Tate Liverpool

John was pleased to be asked by the Tate Liverpool to cover one of their corporate events held on the 30th April at their Albert Dock Gallery. The evening was an opportunity for invited guests to view the exhibition “DLA Piper Series : This is Sculpture”. Artist Michael Craig-Martin, designer Wayne Hemingway and artist, theatre director and writer Tim Etchells have worked with curators to select artworks and devise radical new contexts in which to show the exhibition.
It was a huge privilege to have access to the Tate’s galleries and also be able to capture people enjoying art in its varied forms. Most notable was the performance installation which involved the regular change in position of a person following a pre-defined pattern of movement and the silent disco, DJ’d by Wayne Hemmingway and his son Jack, in which people listened to the music through wireless headphones whilst dancing on a disco light floor!
