Dear John,

We know that the production of the photographs are some time away, but we wanted to email you in the meantime to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you did on our wedding day. For someone who is always reticent at having her picture taken I was extremely comfortable with you there, and in fact barely noticed most of the time. I loved your ‘Everybody smile, Sarah look the other way’, on the group shots and compliments about your superb interpersonal skills, professionalism, ability to be in all the right places yet not intrude, and what a ‘nice’ guy you were- flowed throughout the day. Many people said they would be recommending you highly, and I think, if I remember correctly, Dutch Lewis ‘singing’ your praises about all the skills above, – and he’s certainly worked around enough photographers in his time!

In October this year my elderly mother suggested that we may wish to get some family photographs professionally shot.

After a few weeks the opportunity arose when my sister and niece (along with their pet lurcher) were visiting and we asked John Charlton to come and take our pictures.

I felt for John. They say you should never work with Children and animals, and here was I asking John to work with a 10 month old, a dog, a teenager, and an 81 year old – not to mention me, my wife and my sister.

I’ve heard John say that he is a photographer because he likes working with people and it occurred to me that without that natural warmth there is no way he could get the response from us that he did.

That’ coupled with superb technical skill, have given us a suite of family photographs that emotionally reflect the fun we had on the day and the love that as family we feel for each other.

I would not hesitate in recommending John Charlton Photography and look forward to working with him again.
