A Church and a Library Wedding {Sarah and Justin}
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah and Justin’s wedding at Our Lady of Lourdes church with the reception at the Old Library in Birmingham.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding – and as it was just after Easter, this wedding was a wonderfully laid back affair for their friends and family. Sarah got ready back at her parents house, with the make-up being done by the uber talented Jodie Hazelwood.
It was a wonderfully local wedding with the church being just minutes away from the house – and it was Sarah’s family church – so held some wonderful memories for the family. Â I love shooting Catholic weddings as, more often than not, the priest will let me photograph from the position which gives the best photographs, making it possible to get some truly beautiful images.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party moved onto one of my favourite venues, The Old Library. Based at the Custard Factory, it was built in 1866 as one of the city’s first free libraries. It’s been restored to one of the city’s most unique wedding venues and a fabulous place for a reception or ceremony.
I love the area around the Custard Factory as it provides an amazing array of backdrops for photographs – so following the drinks reception – I took Sarah and Justin on a quick shoot – before they heading into the wedding breakfast.
It was an amazing day for the couple – and followed by a caleigh on the Friday night at the Spotted Dog pub in Digbeth!
