A Road Trip and a Welsh Wedding
Last weekend was a bit of a hectic one – we had a pre-wed shoot on Saturday morning in Sutton Park – and then after packing the car – it was off to Caernarfon for a wedding on Sunday.
I’ve always been a fan of a little road trip every now and again, so this was kind of a busman’s holiday. We were photographing a friends wedding on the Sunday (Katherine and Dave – whose pre-wed shoot was recently featured on my blog and also Engaged Wedding Blog ) so decided we’d stay on a few days in Wales to have a short break.
The wedding, which was at Seiont Manor was fab (sneak peek of the pictures as soon as we’ve edited the first draft!) and after a lazy morning on Monday we set off to Portmeirion.
Now, I realise that many people wont have seen the orginal of the TV series The Prisoner as it was first aired back in the 60s, but every now and again it seems to pop-up on one of the channels that’s way down the list on Freeview. Most of the external filming was done at Portmeirion and the village is well known for its mix of Mediterranean colours and quirky architecture. It’s also situated on a beautiful piece of coastline on an estuary which provides a fantastic backdrop for this amazing quirky place.
As we were staying at the hotel there, it was fab to have the village to ourselves after the tourists had gone home – and the longer we were there, the more it grew on me. They  also host weddings there and so if you know anyone getting married there, let me know!
Anyway, I ended up taking loads of photographs which I’ve shared below to give you an idea of the place – but it really is a great place to visit and if you fancy a short break, I’d definately recommend it!
