FAQ

Do you charge a deposit?

In order to reserve me to photograph your wedding, I ask for 25% of your package price to secure your date. The remainder is required 8 weeks before your wedding date. The booking fee is non-refundable, so if you need to change your wedding date, I will be happy to move your date if I am not already booked on the new date.

What happens if you fall sick?

I’d have to be pretty ill to not photograph a wedding – and it would have to be bone-breaking-can’t-crawl-to-the-wedding kind of sick. However, if the worst did happen, I have assistant photographers that are capable of photographing your wedding. So if I’m at-death’s door ill – then there will still be someone to photograph your important day.

How many photos do you take at a typical wedding?

My clients usually receive between 450 and 600 edited images – but the actual number depends on the day. The images I give my clients are all edited to my high standards and can be printed at any number of high street or online companies. I’ll even tell you the best places to get prints.

How long before we can see the photos?

Your wedding photographs will take no more than 4 weeks. Often, it’s quicker than this – but I’ll always let you know beforehand as it can depend on the time of year and how many weddings I have at that time.

Can you travel?

I have covered weddings across the UK and abroad so I’m more than happy to travel – costs are negotiable.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Let me know if you or your venue want to see it.

Are you a full time professional photographer?

The answer is definitely yes. It’s my job and my business. My photography is my main income, so I take the work and responsibility very seriously.

Our friend says he has a good camera. Can you match his price?

I answer this by asking you how much you value your day and the memories of that day? By the end of the wedding, you’ll have invested a lot of your own time and money into this day – which can’t be repeated. I know how to handle your guests with respect and politeness and make sure every aspect of the day is photographed in our style. As I do this for my living, it means I take onboard a great deal of responsibility recording your wedding day memories. Wouldn’t you rather your friend enjoyed the day with you and was able to relax without the pressure of asking a 100 people to get together for a group photograph? Being a wedding photographer isn’t just about being good with a camera, it’s also about being good with people.

We went to a wedding recently, the photographer took over the day. Will you?

No, I plan my work with you in mind. I want you to relax and enjoy your wedding day. The majority of my photography is unobtrusive and natural and I will work with you to make sure you get the photographs you want – but without the cost of making you late for the wedding breakfast or taking over your day.

Will we get copyright on our images?

Not quite.. what you’ll get with the disc of the hi-resolution photographs is a license which means that you can print your photographs wherever you want. The only thing you I don’t allow you to do is use the images for commercial purposes.
