Vintage Pin-up Fabulousness

Today’s blog post is going to full of beautiful, vintage pin-up-ness! Last Thursday I had the pleasure of shooting a styled shoot at the Vintage Salon in the Custard Factory in Birmingham.

Now if you not heard of the vintage salon you want to get yourself over to their website to have a look. The owner, Lynsey, as well as being fabulous, does vintage hair, make up and styling for people, from brides looking for an authentic vintage look for their wedding to styling for photographic shoots.

So, a rainy, cold Thursday morning last week saw me in the salon with two other photographers, photographing four fab models using the beautifully styled salon and then wondering around the Custard Factory and using it as a great backup for more photographs.

I’d gone to the shoot with a number of ideas in my head. I’m familiar with the genre of pin-up images so wanted something that was in that style; strong colours and a hint of cheekiness was the order of the day for the images.

Here’s a full list of everyone involved as it wasn’t just me who came up with the creative goodness below!

These ladies were the fabulous models for the day!

Diablo Rose – www.diablorose.blogspot.com or Facebook Page
Roxy Q – www.lekeuxevents.co.uk/ (Kelly – Brown hair, Goth, black corset)
Kate Molloy – www.thevintagedirectory.co.uk (Blond, Goth, black corset)
Rebecca Minnell – www.lekeuxevents.co.uk (diner outfit)

The location was: The Vintage Salon  who also provided the models above via Sugabilly’s Pin Ups and Promo Girls

Corsets were provided by Jo of Rawhide Corsets

Hair, Styling, Make-up, clothing was also done by the vintage salon’s owner Lynsey Le Keux. I wish had hair – the things that Lynsey can do with hair spray and rollers is amazing!

Phew.. that reads like the credits of a blockbuster… So – a massive thanks to all concerned – great day, fab people, amazing pin-up loveliness and root beer!!

So without any further a do, here’s the images, comments are welcome!
