I travel all over the country to photograph weddings, so it’s a welcome change to photograph a wedding that is literally on my doorstep! Danny and Grace live a stone throw away from me and the church, All Saints in Kings Heath was also just around the corner. Their reception was at the Old Library in Digbeth – a venue that I love to work at because it’s right in the middle of the Custard factory – which gives plenty of opportunity for great photographs.
The day started with photographing the girls getting ready with hair being styled by Grace’s sister and the make-up been done to perfection by Jodie Hazlewood whilst Danny got ready at Hotel La Tour. The beautiful flowers fitted the colour scheme perfectly and were also by a local supplier, Winspers, Kings Heath.
Their ceremony at All Saints church was a wonderfully intimate ceremony followed by photographs outside the church and then Highbury Park (one of my favourite places for photographs). By the time we had arrived at the Old Library, the sun had come out making for some stunning photographs in and around the Custard Factory.
