01. MY STYLE
Your wedding day is a unique event, so of the all suppliers you choose, picking the right wedding photographer for you is an important decision because after the wedding day, the photographs and the wedding album are all that will remain with you for years to come, long after the wedding day is over. Wedding photography isn’t just about being good with a camera, it’s about your photographer respecting you and your guests, being approachable and adaptable and most importantly you need to like and get on with them. My wedding couples trust me on one of the most important days of their lives to photograph their day as the story of their day unfolds, capturing the love, emotion and drama in a stylish, natural way. I work with you to understand the more formal group photographs you may want and appreciate that you want to enjoy your day with your guests without feeling the photographs are taking over the day. We will build some time into the day for photographs with just the two of you to create some more artistic personal images that not only capture the two of you naturally, but also give you some time to relax and enjoy the emotion of the day.
Photographing the wedding is just the start of my work. Whilst you are away on honeymoon – every image that tells the story of your day is hand edited to ensure that it reflects your day in the best possible way. I take great care to ensure that your images are treated uniquely in post-production and reflects your story and your personality, to give you beautifully finished images which are superior to the images that your friends and family will give you and post on social media. I approach each wedding with a view to creating beautiful pieces of art which as well as looking beautiful in an album are equally stunning as pieces of wall-art. Once the images are finished, we work together to shortlist your favourites and then design the layout of your wedding album. I have chosen the album company I use, Folio, with care to ensure they offer you plenty of choice but also beautifully made albums to present your wedding story in. I have had the honour of photographing many weddings across the UK in a range of venues from stylish city centre locations to beautiful stately homes such as Harewood House in Leeds. My images are unique to each couple I photograph and are a reflection of you and your relationship. No two weddings are the same and I treat each one I photograph in that way. Please feel free to read through the testimonials of my previous clients and then get in touch for an informal chat.
02. Engagement Session
A lot of my clients tell me that they hate having their photograph taken and hate seeing themselves in photographs. The fact is that today, with so many camera about on smart-phones etc, it’s likely that the images you end up seeing are taken by friends and family when you aren’t looking your best. I want my couples to be as relaxed as possible about their photographs on their wedding day. I almost want them to ignore the fact that I’m there so that the photographs I take are natural and capturing the story of the wedding day. An engagement session is really useful because it enables us to get some great images, without any pressure in places that can provide a contrast to the location of the wedding. The session is fun and laid-back and it’s really all about my couple connecting with each other and realising that being photographed is actually quite easy. My photographs are not contrived and the posing is kept to a minimum (so no dodgy catalogue poses!). Previous couple have used their engagement photographs for invitations, orders of service and guest signing boards. All of my couple have said that they found the session really fun and meant their minds were put at ease on the wedding day – so that didn’t have to worry about the photographs.
Photographs need to be given life. They need to be printed so that they become tangible objects that you can touch and see them. This is why, to me, a wedding album is so important. It becomes a piece of your family’s history and sometime that you can take out from time to time to look at and remind yourself of the memories from your wedding day. I work with Folio Albums which is a UK company producing handmade fine-art albums. Folio are as passionate about what they do, as I am. This means I have no hesitation in using their products to ensure your images are presented in the best possible way.
When comparing the prices that wedding photographers charge – it can get very confusing. I would always suggest sitting down with potential clients so that I can show some of the beautiful albums of previous weddings and answer any questions in person. My pricing is straightforward and allows you to either choose a collection or, if you are looking for a more bespoke quote, you can choose from my a la carte prices. The biggest investment on the wedding day you will make is in my time. It takes skill, creativity and effort to create beautiful images, both during the day and also in post-production. I have created three different packages which coverage the majority of what most of my clients ask for.
My wedding collections for 2016/17 start at £1,600. Please contact me if you would like to receive full details of my collections and a la carte options. All prices include VAT and travel of upto 50 miles from B5 5SE. Please note that a deposit of 25% of the fee is required to secure your date. I also offer engagement shoots, parent albums and a range of different wall products all tailored to your individual requirements. I only shoot a maximum of 25 weddings a year, so if you are interested in talking to me about photographing your day, then please get in touch and I will send over my price list if I am available on your day.

06. Frequently Asked Questions
How many photos do you take at a typical wedding?
My clients usually receive between 450 and 600 edited images – but the actual number depends on the day. The images I give my clients are all edited to my high standards and can be printed at any number of high street or online companies. I’ll even tell you the best places to get prints.
How long before we can see the photos?
Your wedding photographs will take no more than 4 weeks. Often, it’s quicker than this – but I’ll always let you know beforehand as it can depend on the time of year and how many weddings I have at that time.
Are you insured?
Yes, I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Let me know if you or your venue want to see it.
Will we get copyright on our images?
Not quite.. what you’ll get with the disc of the hi-resolution photographs is a license which means that you can print your photographs wherever you want. The only thing you I don’t allow you to do is use the images for commercial purposes.
What happens if you fall sick?
I’d have to be pretty ill to not photograph a wedding – and it would have to be bone-breaking-can’t-crawl-to-the-wedding kind of sick. However, if the worst did happen, I have assistant photographers that are capable of photographing your wedding. So if I’m at-death’s door ill – then there will still be someone to photograph your important day.
Do you charge a deposit?
In order to reserve me to photograph your wedding, I ask for 25% of your package price to secure your date. The remainder is required 8 weeks before your wedding date. The booking fee is non-refundable, so if you need to change your wedding date, I will be happy to move your date if I am not already booked on the new date.
Are you a full time professional photographer?
The answer is definitely yes. It’s my job and my business. My photography is my main income, so I take the work and responsibility very seriously.
Our friend says he has a good camera. Can you match his price?
I answer this by asking you how much you value your day and the memories of that day? By the end of the wedding, you’ll have invested a lot of your own time and money into this day – which can’t be repeated. I know how to handle your guests with respect and politeness and make sure every aspect of the day is photographed in our style. As I do this for my living, it means I take onboard a great deal of responsibility recording your wedding day memories. Wouldn’t you rather your friend enjoyed the day with you and was able to relax without the pressure of asking a 100 people to get together for a group photograph? Being a wedding photographer isn’t just about being good with a camera, it’s also about being good with people.
Can you travel?
I have covered weddings across the UK and abroad so I’m more than happy to travel – costs are negotiable.
We went to a wedding recently, the photographer took over the day. Will you?
No, I plan my work with you in mind. I want you to relax and enjoy your wedding day. The majority of my photography is unobtrusive and natural and I will work with you to make sure you get the photographs you want – but without the cost of making you late for the wedding breakfast or taking over your day.
